What is Cabergoline?

Firstly Cabergoline (brand names: Dostinex, Cabaser) is a dopamine agonist, meaning it stimulates dopamine receptors in the brain. Its primary medical use is to treat high prolactin levels (hyperprolactinemia) and conditions like prolactin-secreting pituitary tumors. It works by reducing the amount of prolactin, a hormone that can cause unwanted side effects if elevated.

In the bodybuilding world, Cabergoline is used off-label to manage side effects caused by certain anabolic steroids — especially those that increase prolactin levels, like nandrolone (Deca-Durabolin) and trenbolone.
